Day Trip Details

Join us in Bilbao to explore the wine-producing regions of Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. We will meet at the designated time in the city center, near the Guggenheim Museum, and begin our trip to two historic wineries in Laguardia and Haro. Our first stop will be Haro, the wine capital of Rioja, where we'll visit the Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España. During this visit, we will learn about the wine-making process and explore the barrel room and underground cellars, designed by architect Gustave Eiffel. The visit includes a wine tasting.

After Haro, we will tour its old town, recognized as an Asset of Cultural Interest. Points of interest include the Bendaña Palace, the palace of the Counts of Haro, the town hall, and Plaza de la Paz Square.

Next, we will visit the medieval village of Laguardia, walking through its cobblestone streets. We will enter a traditional winery to learn about the wine-producing process and sample some products. Participants will have free time to dine in local restaurants before we head to Elciego to view the Marqués de Riscal Winery. The tour concludes back in Bilbao after approximately 8 hours.
