On this trip to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe and Mundaka, we'll depart from Bilbao to explore a location from Game of Thrones and a key surfing destination.

Description

We'll meet at the puppy floral sculpture at the Guggenheim Museum and head north. After approximately 30 minutes, we will reach San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, known as Dragonstone to fans, and climb 241 steps to the 10th-century hermitage at the summit of this 79 metre rock. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Bizkaia coastline from the viewpoint at the hermitage.

Afterward, we will continue the trip, passing by Cape Matxitxako and the town of Bermeo. We will stop in Mundaka, a fishing town renowned for its surfing, and explore the harbour and the Church of Santa María. A visit to the Urdaibai Estuary viewpoint will provide views of the mouth of the Oca River.

Next, we will head to Guernica to learn about the region's history, including the bombing during the Spanish Civil War and a stop at a Picasso mural.

The return journey to Bilbao will take around 6 hours, concluding back at the original meeting point.
