Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Tourist Office in Bilbao and head towards Vitoria-Gasteiz. One hour later, we'll arrive in the capital of Alava.
We'll take a guided walking tour of the historic center of Vitoria, including the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca and the Basque Parliament. We will also visit the Cathedral of Santa María, notable for its medieval architecture.
After the city tour, we'll return to the bus to visit the Añana Salt Flats. We'll explore the "Añana Salt Valley" to learn about the production of Añana salt, which became significant during the Middle Ages.
The tour will continue to Orduña to understand its unique features before crossing the Ayala Valley to have lunch in Balmaseda.
Post-lunch, we'll travel to the industrial area of Portugalete and cross the Bilbao estuary via the Vizcaya Suspension Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, inaugurated in the late 19th century.
On the other side of the estuary, we will visit the Las Arenas neighborhood in Getxo before returning to the starting point in Bilbao, concluding the trip after a total of 9 hours.
