Birmingham Civil Rights Tour

We'll meet at 9:45 am in front of the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute to start this tour focusing on the struggle for fundamental rights for black people in Alabama.

This 3-hour tour will cover significant milestones in Birmingham's civil rights history, including the founding of the Alabama Christian Human Rights Movement, the Ku Klux Klan's influence, and the establishment of various organizations advocating for control and rights in the city.

The tour will also address prominent figures such as politician Bull Connor and minister and activist Fred Shuttlesworth, notable voices in the fight against racial segregation.

After retracing the steps of the civil rights protesters, we'll return to the meeting point, concluding the tour at 12:45 pm.
