Travel to the heart of Gerona and see two of the area's medieval towns: Rupit and Besalú. You'll explore their cobbled streets and learn about their history.

Rupit and Besalú Day Trip

The tour meets at the Blanes Bus Station. From here, the journey to Rupit begins. Rupit, with a history dating back to the 11th Century, is recognized as one of Catalonia's beautiful villages.

After approximately 1.5 hours, the tour arrives at Rupit, allowing free time to explore its narrow, stone house-lined streets, exemplifying a medieval city. A highlight includes crossing the famous hanging bridge for views of the surrounding natural scenery. A complete typical Catalonian lunch will be provided before continuing the excursion.

The tour then proceeds to the Santuario de la Mare de Déu del Far, a church at over 1,000 metres above sea level, where the guide will explain its interesting history.

Finally, the tour reaches Besalú, showcasing its bridge, Jewish baths, San Pedro de Besalú and San Julián monastery and church, as well as the old pilgrim's hospital before returning to the departure point.

The tour concludes at the starting point after a total duration of 9.5 hours.
