Can you imagine snorkelling between two continents? Dive into the Silfra fissure and swim between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
Silfra Snorkelling Experience
We'll meet at the Thingvellir National Park visitors' centre, where we'll board a bus for a journey across this volcanic land, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our expert guide will provide necessary information for a safe experience.
After a short journey, we reach the Silfra fissure to get equipped and start our snorkelling experience in this unique natural setting.
Silfra offers over 262 feet (80 metres) of visibility, making it one of the best places for snorkelling. It sits between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, allowing you to snorkel between two continents.
We'll snorkel for 45 minutes, exploring the canyon walls, the crystal-clear waters, and the natural flora in Iceland. The fissure widens into Silfra Hall, showcasing a full spectrum of colours. We'll then enter Silfra Cathedral and conclude in the deepest part, Real Blue Lagoon.
