Snowmobile Ride on Langjökull Glacier

Want to enjoy nature in Iceland? On this snowmobile tour of the Langjökull glacier, we'll drive around these impressive landscapes in the second-largest glacier in Iceland.

Description

At the specified time, we'll meet at the base camp in Kjóastaðir, between Geysir and Gullfoss. From here, we'll board a 4x4 vehicle to the Langjökull glacier. Participants will drive a snowmobile.

From the vehicle, we'll see the Eiríksjökull and Hofsjökull glaciers and the Kerlingafjöll mountains. When we arrive at Langjökull, we'll dress in necessary equipment and receive a safety briefing before starting the snowmobile activity.

We will explore areas up to 1450 metres (4757 feet) above sea level known as the "white glacier." There will also be a visit to a natural ice cave.

Inside the cave, we'll observe the translucent blue ice ceiling formed by layers of white ice and volcanic ash. Participants will have around 15 minutes to explore the cave.

After visiting the cave, we will return to base camp via snowmobiles, concluding the tour approximately 5 hours from the start time.

Requirements

Participants must have a valid driving license (equivalent to type B in Europe).Children aged 8-16 can travel as passengers if accompanied by an adult.
