Description

At 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Boca Chica and board the safari trucks ready to explore the southern Dominican Republic.

During the truck safari, we'll drive over mud flats and uneven terrain. You'll have the opportunity to photograph the extensive sugar cane plantations surrounding the Dominican village of Benérito.

We'll also visit a weighing station and a local village, known as a batey, where you can meet the farmers, learn about their way of life, and enjoy a tasting of sugar cane.

The tour will continue to the city of Higüey, where you'll learn how Dominican cigars are made at an organic tobacco factory. Afterwards, we'll tour the central market and visit the Basilica of the Virgin of Altagracia before enjoying a delicious Dominican lunch.

Finally, you'll have the chance to swim in the Chavón River and enjoy a cruise on the Chavón River aboard a traditional boat with a wooden roof. Afterward, we'll return to the truck and make our way back to the hotels in Boca Chica, arriving around 5 pm.
