Immerse yourself in the charms of the Dominican Republic on this safari truck tour of Higüey and the sugar cane plantations. Plus, you'll enjoy a boat trip on the Chavón River!

Description

At 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Boca Chica and board the safari trucks for exploration of southern Dominican Republic.

During the truck safari, we'll traverse mud flats and uneven terrain, offering an adrenaline rush. You'll also have the opportunity to photograph the extensive sugar cane plantations surrounding the village of Benérito.

The tour includes a visit to a weighing station and a local village, known as a batey, where you can meet farmers, learn about their lifestyle, and enjoy a tasting of sugar cane.

The journey continues to Higüey, where you'll learn about Dominican cigars at an organic tobacco factory. Following this, we will tour the central market and visit the Basilica of the Virgin of Altagracia before enjoying a Dominican lunch.

Finally, you can take a dip in the Chavón River and enjoy a cruise on the Chavón River aboard a traditional boat with a wooden roof. Afterward, we will return to the truck and head back to the hotels in Boca Chica, arriving around 5 pm.
