Immerse yourself in the charms of the Dominican Republic on this safari truck tour of Higüey and the sugar cane plantations. Plus, you'll enjoy a boat trip on the Chavón River!

Description

At 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Boca Chica and board the safari trucks to explore the southern Dominican Republic.

During the truck safari, we will drive over mud flats and uneven terrain. You'll have the opportunity to photograph the extensive sugar cane plantations surrounding the Dominican village of Benérito.

We'll visit a weighing station and a local village known as a batey, where you can meet farmers, learn about their way of life, and enjoy a tasting of sugar cane.

The tour continues to the city of Higüey, where you'll learn about Dominican cigar production at an organic tobacco factory. Afterward, we will tour the central market and visit the Basilica of the Virgin of Altagracia before enjoying a Dominican lunch.

Finally, we'll have time to swim in the Chavón River, followed by a cruise on the river aboard a traditional wooden boat. Afterwards, we will return to the truck and head back to the hotels in Boca Chica, arriving around 5 pm.
