Saona Island Beach Excursion

Explore the southern coast of the dreamy island of Saona with this excursion from Boca Chica. A paradise full of native flora and fauna and mangroves awaits!

Description

Between 7 and 9 am, pickup will be at your hotel in Boca Chica. The journey proceeds to Bayahíbe, where a boat will transport us to Cotubanamá National Park. A brief stop will occur at Palmilla beach, known for its natural setting.

Next, we sail to Saona Island, located within Cotubanamá National Park. Here, we will visit Playa La Caleta and Playa Mano Juan, recognized for their clear natural pools.

Lunch will consist of a traditional meal by the sea, including rice, meat, salad, pasta, and a non-alcoholic beverage.

After lunch, we will explore the town of Mano Juan, viewing traditional colorful houses and the sea turtle conservation center to learn about care protocols for hatchlings. If you join between August and September, there may be opportunities to see newborn turtles.

We will continue to Los Flamencos beach for swimming and birdwatching. Following this, we will navigate through the mangrove areas, an aquatic forest with various mangrove species. You may choose to elevate the experience by swimming to see the starfish.

To conclude the day, a cocktail featuring Dominican rum will be served. We will then return to the Bayahíbe pier for the bus ride back to Boca Chica, scheduled for arrival at your hotel between 5 and 6:30 pm.
