Saona Island Beach Excursion

Explore the southern coast of the dreamy island of Saona with this excursion from Boca Chica. A paradise full of native flora and fauna and mangroves awaits!

Description

Between 7 and 9 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Boca Chica. From there, we'll travel to Bayahíbe to take a boat to Cotubanamá National Park. A brief stop will be made at Palmilla beach before sailing to Saona Island, located within Cotubanamá National Park.

We will visit Playa La Caleta and Playa Mano Juan, known for their natural pools. Lunch will consist of a traditional meal by the sea, including rice, meat, salad, pasta, and a non-alcoholic beverage.

After lunch, we will tour the town of Mano Juan and visit the sea turtle conservation center to learn about the care of hatchlings. Newborn turtles may be seen between August and September.

Next, we'll go to Los Flamencos beach for a swim and observe local birds. We will also navigate through the mangrove areas to admire red, white, button, and black mangroves. You may jump off the boat to see starfish, ensuring they are not disturbed.

We will conclude the day with a cocktail with Dominican rum before returning to Bayahíbe to take the bus back to Boca Chica, with arrival scheduled between 5 and 6:30 pm.
