On this day trip to Isla Escudo de Veraguas, you can spend a day in this hidden treasure in the Panamanian Caribbean.
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the port of Isla Colón to begin our trip to Isla Escudo de Veraguas. We will board a boat in Bocas del Toro and sail along the Caribbean Sea for 3 hours.
During the journey, we'll stop at a pristine beach for a dip. Upon arrival at Isla Escudo de Veraguas, we'll take a scenic tour to discover the island's biodiversity and its landscapes.
This area is home to the Pygmy 3-toed sloth, a species in danger of extinction, and the strawberry poison-dart frog. We will look for these and other species during the tour.
Next, we'll stop at a beach for snorkelling to explore the seabed of the Panamanian Caribbean. There will be free time for lunch in this scenic location.
After lunch, we’ll visit the community of Río Caña to learn about the traditions of the local people of Isla Escudo, followed by a traditional dance show.
We will observe how the locals create artisan products from natural materials. After this, we will return to the boat for the journey back to Bocas del Toro.
Finally, we will conclude the day and say our goodbyes at the starting point, approximately 10 hours after departure.
