Colombian Fruit Tour
The adventure begins with a walk from the Mercado de Paloquemao, entrance 10, followed by public transport to the capital's fruit market. During the journey, participants will discuss Colombia's culinary traditions and the importance of tropical fruits in its gastronomy.
At the market, the tour includes a stroll to learn about various tropical fruit varieties in Colombia. One highlight is the granadilla, which, upon tasting, reveals a sweet pulp covering its seeds. Another fruit sampled is the zapote, known for its tough skin but rewarding refreshing orange flesh inside.
Participants will also visit a passion fruit stall, exploring its flavors and some historical facts about its supposed aphrodisiac properties. A soursop stall will be included, where despite its rough exterior, peeling reveals a mild-flavored, whitish flesh.
The tour concludes with a fruit juice, returning to the same starting point.
