Guatavita & Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá Tour

After pickup from your meeting point in Bogotá, we will head north for 2 to 2.5 hours to the town of Guatavita. A 20 to 30-minute route will take us around the town, which features the Guatavita Lagoon. Here, we will have a 2-hour guided walk in Spanish, learning about the significance of this site to Indigenous Peoples and its connection to the legend of El Dorado.

Following the lake visit, we'll travel to Zipaquirá for 1 to 1.5 hours. You will then have 1 hour for lunch. After regrouping, you will have 2 hours to explore the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá with an English audio guide, located 590 feet (180 meters) deep in the salt mines, operational since 1801.

After the visit, we will return to Bogotá, with a journey of 1.5 to 2 hours.

Important

The tour includes a Spanish-speaking driver for transfers and a Spanish-speaking guide during the 2-hour Guatavita lagoon walk. The Salt Cathedral visit will utilize an English audio guide.
