La Candelaria & Gold Museum Walking Tour

On this tour, you'll visit the Gold Museum and discover La Candelaria, the historical neighborhood in Bogotá.

Description

We'll meet at the Chantonner Delikatesen to begin our guided tour of the Gold Museum and the La Candelaria neighborhood. The tour includes a breakfast of chocolate with pandebono.

We will first visit the church of San Francisco, the Archaeological Museum Casa del Marqués de San Jorge, and the Gold Museum of Bogotá, which features collections from ancient pre-Colombian civilizations such as the Muiscas and Calimas.

Next, we will explore the Plaza de Bolivar and its notable architecture, including the Primatial Cathedral of Bogotá, Capitolio Nacional, and Lievano Palace.

We will proceed to La Candelaria and visit 10th Street of the Colony, viewing the Colegio San Bartolomé and the homes of Manuelita Saenz, Bolívar, and Viceroy Sámano.

We'll then visit the Miguel Urrutia Art Museum, known for the monstrance La Lechuga, and conclude at the Botero Museum featuring works by Fernando Botero. The tour lasts four hours.

Children 6-15 years old

Each child in the reservation must be accompanied by at least 3 paying adults for the reduced rate to apply. If there are fewer adults, children will be charged the adult rate.
