On our day trip to the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, we will explore an underground monument and the charming town of Zipaquirá.
Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá Day Trip
After pickup from a designated meeting point in Bogotá, we will travel north to Zipaquirá, a journey of approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
Upon arrival, you will have 2 hours of free time in the Salt Cathedral, located 590 feet (180 metres) underground. You can admire various sculptures and crosses made from salt and marble elements that enhance the site. The cathedral, not exceeding 15º C (59º F), features notable aspects like the choir, Stations of the Cross, and water mirrors. In 2007, it was designated the first of the Seven Wonders of Colombia.
Next, you will have 1 hour of free time in Zipaquirá for lunch and to explore the old quarter, where you can visit the Santísima Trinidad Cathedral and colonial-style buildings.
We will then return to Bogotá and drop you off.
