Why visit the Archiginnasio of Bologna?

This ticket grants you access to the Palace of the Archiginnasio, an emblematic building in Bologna. It was constructed in the 16th century as the seat of the University of Bologna. Upon entering the courtyard, you will notice over 7,000 coats of arms representing former students.

With your English audioguide, you will learn about the building during your visit to its cloister and two renowned rooms: the Anatomical Theater and the Stabat Mater room. In the Anatomical Theater, you will explore a historic classroom showcasing wooden sculptures used in medical education, including the statue of Bolognese Gaspare Tagliacozzi, a pioneer of plastic surgery.
