Route

    Quadrilatero

    Start your tour at Quadrilatero, Bologna’s oldest market located in the heart of the city. Here, you will walk through streets in a food paradise, which offers one of the best street foods in Italy.

    Basilica Di San Petronio

    Next, you will see the Basilica di San Petronio, which is the largest church in Bologna and one of the largest in Europe. The construction in Italian-Gothic style dates back to the late 14th century. Here, you will get to see one of the largest Sundials in the world which was built by the astronomer Giovanni Domenico Cassini.

    Piazza Maggiore

    Continue on to the square known as the Piazza Maggiore. Located here are some of the most historic buildings. One of the impressive buildings you will come across is the Torre dell’Orologio - Bologna Clock Tower. As we continue, you will walk by the Palazzo d'Accursio which has historically housed administrative offices and is currently the city’s Town Hall.

    Fontana del Nettuno

    You will then see and learn more about the 16th century Fontana del Nettuno (Fountain of Neptune). It is located in one of the most famous squares alongside Piazza Maggiore known as Piazza Nettuno.

    Two Towers

    Next you will visit the Two Towers dating back to the middle ages, Garisenda and Asinelli. These are amongst the symbols of Bologna and stand tall at 47 meters and 97.02 meters respectively.

    Piazza Santo Stefano

    You will then walk across the square known as Piazza of Santo Stefano. Here, you will see The basilica of Santo Stefano. Various cultural events and concerts are held at this square.
