When you visit the Cité du Vin (City of Wine), you'll discover everything about Bordeaux's famous wine culture and its historical wine-growing tradition which dates back centuries.

After exchanging your voucher for the tickets at the priority gate, you'll start your visit to the wine museum, located in a huge open space building with state-of-the-art design.

We'll take a trip through the evolution of this drink as we pass through the 20 different themed areas of the museum. You'll find out just why the city of Bordeaux is synonymous with this drink and why the region is considered to produce some of the best wines in the world.

After soaking up the different types of wines produced on both sides of the Garonne River, you can taste a glass of wine at the Belvedere of the museum. From its panoramic terrace, you'll admire the spectacular views of the city of Bordeaux.

The Cité du Vin is open daily at the following times:

From November 2, 2025 to April 3, 2026: 10 am to 6 pmFrom April 4 to October 31, 2026: 10 am to 7 pm. It will be open until 7 pm on March 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2026.From November 1, 2026 to January 3, 2027:
Midweek and on Sundays, from 10 am to 6 pmOn Saturdays, from 10 am to 7 pm
Special closures:
On December 24 (2025 and 2026), it closes at 4 pmFully closed on December 25 (2025 and 2026)The Cité du Vin will be closed between January 26 and February 1, 2026.
