Tour Options
During the booking process, you can choose between two options: the morning tour or the afternoon tour. Both tours last 4.5 hours and include an English-speaking guide and an exclusive wine tasting.
Below are the differences in the itineraries:
Morning Tour
Meet at the Monument aux Girondins in the Place des Quinconces before starting the Médoc wine route. The guide will provide information about regional wines during the drive to a historic Château, where you'll explore the vineyards, visit the cellars, and learn about the wine-making process, concluding with a tasting of 4 estate wines.
Next, visit a family estate to learn about Bordeaux's main grape varieties while tasting local wines, accompanied by fresh bread, cheese, and other regional products. The tour continues through the Medoc region, discussing the main classifications of grapes grown around Bordeaux, before returning to Bordeaux.
Afternoon Tour
Meet at the Monument aux Girondins and depart for the Médoc vineyards. The 40-minute drive includes insights about the importance of Médoc as a key wine region. A wine-tasting workshop awaits, teaching you to identify various aromas and flavors.
After the workshop, visit a château cellar known for producing Grand Cru Classé wines. Tour the vineyards and winery to learn about wine-making stages. Possible estates include Château Marquis de Terme, Château Desmirail, Château Dauzac, or similar.
The tour concludes with a tasting of three or four wines, paired with bread, cheese, and regional delicacies, before returning to Bordeaux, finishing approximately four and a half hours later.
