Tour Options
When booking your trip to Saint Emilion from Bordeaux, you can opt for a wine-tasting tour at a Château Grand Cru winery or a family-run winery.
Both options include pickup at the indicated time from the Monument to the Girondins at Place des Quinconces, transport and an English-speaking guide.
Tour + Wine tasting at a family winery (4 hours)
We'll meet at the indicated meeting point and, after a 40-minute drive, arrive in Saint-Émilion, where we'll take a guided tour of the historic centre, a World Heritage Site. We will hear about an 8th-century Benedictine monk and his time here.
Next, we'll visit a family-run winery on the outskirts, learning about the stages of winemaking, from grape picking to bottling. The guided tour concludes with a tasting of 2 wines accompanied by a French aperitif of bread, cheese, cold meats, and chocolate. We will return to Bordeaux after 4 hours.
Tour + Wine tasting at a Château Grand Cru winery (4.5 hours)
After meeting at Place des Quinconces, we will head to Saint-Émilion by minibus.
During the tour, our guide will share details about the region's winemaking tradition as we admire the vineyards and cellars. We will visit the cellar of a château to see how Grand Cru Classé wines are made, followed by a tasting of four wines with typical French products like bread and cheese.
We will then have a guided tour of Saint-Émilion in its old town, a World Heritage Site. The tour concludes as we return to Bordeaux after 4.5 hours.
