Discover the wine-growing tradition of the Gironde through a visit to an estate producing some of the best wines in France, along with a wine tasting.
Tour Options
When booking your trip to Saint Emilion from Bordeaux, you can choose between a wine-tasting tour at a Château Grand Cru winery or a family-run winery.
Both options include pickup at the designated time from the Monument to the Girondins at Place des Quinconces, transport, and an English-speaking guide.
Tour + Wine tasting at a family winery (4 hours)
After a 40-minute drive to Saint-Émilion, a guided tour will showcase the historic centre, a World Heritage Site, and its historical significance involving an 8th-century Benedictine monk. We will then visit a family-run winery to learn about wine production, including a vineyard tour and observing the winemaking process.
The tour concludes with a tasting of 2 wines and a typical French aperitif of bread, cheese, cold meats, and chocolate, followed by a return to Bordeaux, completing the tour in 4 hours.
Tour + Wine tasting at a Château Grand Cru winery (4.5 hours)
After meeting at Place des Quinconces, we will travel to Saint-Émilion by minibus. The guide will share insights on the region's winemaking traditions while we admire the vineyards and cellars. We will visit a château cellar to see how Grand Cru Classé wines are produced, culminating in a tasting of four wines paired with typical French products.
Following the oenological experience, there will be a guided tour of Saint-Émilion, recognized as a World Heritage Site. The tour ends with our return to Bordeaux after 4.5 hours.
