This 9-hour tour of Nizwa provides an opportunity to explore significant castles on the Arabian Peninsula and an abandoned town.

Itinerary

After hotel pickup in Muscat, we will journey to the interior of the Arabian Peninsula to discover Oman’s emblematic castles.

The first stop will be at Birkat Al Mawz, an abandoned town from the 17th century located at the base of Jebel Akhdar Mountain. Following this, we will visit Nizwa, known as the “cultural capital” of Oman, where we will spend one hour observing the exterior of the fortress with its 360-degree cannon tower and exploring the souk market. A break at a local restaurant will allow time for food and rest.

Next, we will travel to Jabrin Castle, built in the 17th century. It is well-preserved and noted for its carved wooden doors and ceiling details.

Finally, we will return to Muscat, stopping at Oman Avenue Mall for souvenir shopping or refreshments before dropping you off at your hotel.
