This 9-hour tour of Nizwa provides an opportunity to explore significant castles of the Arabian Peninsula and visit an abandoned town.

Itinerary

The tour begins with hotel pickup in Muscat, followed by a journey to the interior region of Oman. The first destination is Birkat Al Mawz, a 17th-century abandoned town located at the foot of Jebel Akhdar Mountain. After this stop, the tour proceeds to the historic center of Nizwa, known as Oman’s cultural capital, where an hour is spent exploring. Visitors will see the exterior of the fortress with its 360-degree cannon tower and walk around the souk market before taking a break at a local restaurant for lunch.

Next, the tour continues to Jabrin Castle, built in the 17th century and noted for its well-preserved state, featuring intricately carved wooden doors and ceilings. The final stop is in Muscat at the Oman Avenue Mall for shopping and refreshments, followed by dropping participants off at their hotel.
