Nizwa, Birkat Al Mawz + Jabreen Full-Day Tour

This 9-hour tour of Nizwa offers insight into the significant castles of the Arabian Peninsula, beginning from Muscat.

Itinerary

Following pickup from your hotel in Muscat, we will travel to the interior of the Arabian Peninsula to explore Oman’s iconic castles.

Our first stop will be Birkat Al Mawz, an abandoned town built in the 17th century at the base of Jebel Akhdar Mountain.

We will then visit the historic center of Nizwa, allotted one hour to observe the exterior of the fortress and the 360-degree cannon tower. A stroll through the souk market will precede a break at a local restaurant.

Next, we will travel to Jabrin Castle, a well-preserved 17th-century structure noted for its carved wooden doors and beams. Pay attention to the ceiling’s design.

Finally, we will return to Muscat, stopping at the Oman Avenue Mall for souvenir shopping or refreshments, before dropping you off at your hotel.
