Join us for a journey back in time as we visit the must-see spots and historic monuments on a tour of Braga, known as the "Portuguese Rome."
Braga Guided Tour
Meet us at Largo da Praça Velha to start our guided tour of Braga. In this historic plaza, one of the oldest in the city, we will admire the Porta Nova Arch, built in 1512, which features ornate baroque and neoclassical details, serving as an entryway to the Braga Wall.
Next, we will visit the Medieval Tower, an example of northern Portuguese architecture.
Our walking tour continues down Diogo de Sousa Street to the Town Hall building, which began construction in 1754 and was finished in 1865. This baroque-style building is notable in Braga.
Braga is considered Portugal's religious center, and during our tour, we will discuss its past. We will pass through Santa Barbara Gardens and the Third Order Church, dedicated to Pope John Paul II, and the impressive Braga Cathedral, sharing interesting facts about the city's history.
Additionally, we will explore remarkable 18th-century buildings, including Casa Rolão, Casa dos Crivos, and Capela e Casa dos Coimbras.
Finally, we will return to the meeting point 2.5 hours later, concluding our tour.
