Braga Guided Tour

We will commence our guided exploration of Braga at Largo da Praça Velha, an ideal starting point to delve into the rich heritage of this intriguing Portuguese city.

This charming square is known as one of the oldest in Braga and features the iconic Porta Nova Arch, constructed in 1512. With its exquisite baroque and neoclassical elements, it serves as a stunning gateway to the Braga Wall.

Our tour will proceed to the impressive Medieval Tower, a remarkable representation of northern Portuguese architecture.

Wandering along Diogo de Sousa Street, we will reach the Town Hall, which began construction in 1754 and was completed in 1865. This magnificent baroque-style edifice is a true visual delight!

Braga is recognized as the religious heart of Portugal, and along our journey, we will discuss the significant history of this region. We will pass through Santa Barbara Gardens and visit the Third Order Church, dedicated to Pope John Paul II, as well as the majestic Braga Cathedral, while sharing fascinating stories about the city's heritage.

Additionally, we will witness remarkable 18th-century architecture in this lovely Portuguese locale, featuring landmarks like Casa Rolão, Casa dos Crivos, and Capela e Casa dos Coimbras.

Our tour will culminate back at the original meeting location approximately 2.5 hours later, concluding our enriching experience.
