Guimarães Day Trip & Wine Tasting

Do you know about the heritage of northern Portugal? If you're in Braga, you can't miss this day trip to Guimarães, where we'll also enjoy a delicious wine tasting in a local winery!

Activity Details

We'll meet at the indicated time under the Arco da Porta Nova in Braga and depart south.

After approximately 30 minutes, we will reach Guimarães. Our first stop will be the Castle of Guimarães, a 10th-century fort and one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. Here, you can climb the building for panoramic views of the city while we discuss the country’s foundation.

Next, we will visit the Paço dos Duques de Bragança, a 15th-century palace showcasing the grandeur of Portuguese nobility, with interiors that include tapestries, period furniture, and medieval weapons.

We will then explore the historic centre of Guimarães, wandering through narrow streets with traditional façades, artisan shops, picturesque squares, and cafés. Following this, you will have free time for lunch in the city centre.

After lunch, we will reconvene to enjoy a tasting of Vinho Verde.

At the end of the tasting, we will return to the meeting point in Braga, arriving approximately 6 hours after pickup.
