Guimarães Day Trip & Wine Tasting

Do you know about the heritage of northern Portugal? If you're in Braga, you can't miss this day trip to Guimarães, where we'll also enjoy a delicious wine tasting in a local winery!

Description

We'll meet at the indicated time under the Arco da Porta Nova in Braga, then proceed south.

After approximately 30 minutes, we'll arrive in Guimarães. Our first stop will be the Castle of Guimarães, a 10th-century fort recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal, where you can climb to take in panoramic views and hear about the country’s foundation.

The next stop will be the Paço dos Duques de Bragança, a 15th-century palace showcasing the grandeur of Portuguese nobility, featuring tapestries, period furniture, and medieval weapons.

We'll continue exploring the historic centre of Guimarães, strolling through narrow streets lined with traditional façades, artisan shops, squares, and cafés. After this, you will have free time for lunch at a restaurant in the city centre.

After lunch, we'll regroup to visit a local winery, where we will have a guided tour and enjoy a tasting of Vinho Verde.

Following the tasting, we will return to the meeting point in Braga, arriving approximately 6 hours after pickup.
