Guimarães Day Trip & Wine Tasting

Description

We'll meet at the indicated time under the Arco da Porta Nova in Braga and depart south. After approximately 30 minutes, we will arrive at Guimarães.

Our first stop will be the Castle of Guimarães, a 10th-century fort known as one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. Here, we can climb the castle and enjoy panoramic views while discussing the country's foundation.

Next, we will visit the Paço dos Duques de Bragança, a 15th-century palace showcasing the Portuguese nobility. Its interior features tapestries, period furniture, and medieval weapons.

We will continue through the historic centre of Guimarães, strolling along narrow streets with traditional façades, artisan shops, squares, and cafés. You will then have free time for lunch at a city centre restaurant.

After lunch, we will reconvene to visit a local winery in the centre for a guided tour and a tasting of Vinho Verde.

We will return to the meeting point in Braga, arriving 6 hours after pickup.
