The towers appear bewitched, and its battlements seem to keep out an enemy more terrifying than humans. The inside of the castle resembles a dark story. Its legends are tied to its history; in 1897, the Irish writer Bram Stoker was inspired by the castle to write the famous gothic novel: Dracula.

The guided tour around the castle begins at number 2 Strada Valea Portii in Bran. From this central point, a walk of 200 meters leads to the fortress. Inside the Transylvanian fortress, the tour starts, focusing on the history of Bran Castle, dating back to the 13th century.

During the early Middle Ages, Bran was contested by the Hungarian and Ottoman empires. The significance of the castle to both empires will be explored while walking around the courtyards and rooms, historically inhabited by noble families of royal lineage.

The tour will also reveal what inspired Bram Stoker to base his gothic novel on Count Dracula, a character linked to the 15th-century prince Vlad Tepes Dr?culea, known as "Vlad the Impaler."

The tour concludes with an overview of the castle's recent history, which was extensively renovated in the 1920s while maintaining its medieval appearance.
