Dracula's Castle Guided Tour

The castle's towers and battlements appear formidable. The interior resembles a haunting story, with legends intertwined with its history. In 1897, Irish writer Bram Stoker was inspired by the castle for his famous gothic novel, Dracula.

The guided tour begins at number 2 Strada Valea Portii in Bran, with a walk to the fortress just 200 meters away. Inside the Transylvanian fortress, participants will learn about the history of Bran Castle, originating in the 13th century.

Bran was contested by the Hungarian and Ottoman empires during the early Middle Ages. The tour explores its historical significance while walking through the courtyards and rooms of Bran Castle, which were inhabited by noble families of royal lineage.

The tour will also explain the inspiration behind Bram Stoker's Count Dracula, based on the 15th-century prince Vlad Tepes Dr?culea, known as "Vlad the Impaler".

The tour concludes with an overview of the castle's recent history, highlighting renovations from the 1920s while preserving its medieval appearance.
