Hiking in Ciocanu

At the indicated time, we'll meet in front of the Brasov County History Museum to start this hiking tour in Ciocanu. We'll embark on a 1-hour drive to Ciocanu, a Transylvanian village surrounded by nature and mountains. Along the way, we'll enjoy views of the Bucegi Natural Park, the Piatra Craiului National Park, and the Postavaru Massif.

Once we arrive, we'll begin a 2-hour hike in the Piatra Craiului Mountains, located on the border between the former Austro-Hungarian Empire and Romania. The hike covers approximately 6.2-7.5 miles (10-12 km). During this trek, we will encounter the natural scenery of the area and observe cattle and sheep grazing, as many locals operate farms in Ciocanu. We will also share regional legends and curiosities.

After the hike, lunch will be provided in a cozy house, featuring homemade cheeses, sausages, homegrown vegetables, preserves, and homemade pickles. Finally, after 4 hours of experience, we will return to the meeting point in Brasov.
