Hiking in Ciocanu

At the indicated time, we'll meet in front of the Brasov County History Museum to start this hiking tour in Ciocanu. We will go on a 1-hour drive to Ciocanu, a Transylvanian village surrounded by nature and high mountains. Along the way, we'll have views of the peaks of Bucegi Natural Park, Piatra Craiului National Park, and the Postavaru Massif.

Upon arrival, we'll begin a 2-hour hike in the Piatra Craiului Mountains, located on the border between the former Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Kingdom of Romania. As we walk, we will observe the unique natural scenery and see cows and sheep grazing, as most of Ciocanu's residents run cattle and sheep farms. The hike covers 6.2-7.5 miles (10-12 km) and includes legends and curiosities of the region.

After the hike, we will enjoy a well-deserved lunch in a cozy house featuring homemade cheeses, sausages, homegrown vegetables, preserves, and homemade pickles.

Finally, after 4 hours of experience, we will return to the meeting point in Brasov.
