On this excursion to St. Anna Lake from Brasov, we will explore the only volcanic lake in Eastern Europe and the surrounding landscapes.

We will pick you up at your hotel in Brasov at the indicated time to begin the excursion to St. Anna Lake. This is the only volcanic lake in Eastern Europe, known for its scenery.

After a 1.5-2 hour drive, we will arrive at our destination and start our walk in the Ciomatu Mountains of the Eastern Carpathians, located 3,117 feet (950 meters) above sea level.

During the walk, we will discuss the unique features of this area, formed in the crater of a volcano that erupted approximately 32,000 years ago. It has become a favored destination in Transylvania, not just for its beauty but also for its legends.

This is a protected area where you can observe carnivorous plants, miniature conifers, and many other species that are visible only in the summer months.

Finally, we will head to Balvanyos, where we will begin a walking route to the "stinking caves" and the "bird cemetery". You will learn how these locations received their names during the tour.

We will return to Brasov after 8-10 hours of exploration.
