St. Anna Lake Tour

On this excursion to St. Anna Lake from Brasov, participants will explore the only volcanic lake in Eastern Europe and its surrounding landscapes.

St. Anna Lake Tour

Pickup will be at your hotel in Brasov at the designated time to commence the tour to St. Anna Lake, renowned for its remarkable scenery.

Following a 1.5-2 hour drive, the group will arrive at the destination and commence a walk in the Ciomatu Mountains of the Eastern Carpathians, located at an altitude of 3,117 feet (950 meters) above sea level.

During the walk, informative commentary regarding the area—formed in the crater of a volcano approximately 32,000 years ago—will be provided. This site has become a notable destination in Transylvania, celebrated not only for its natural beauty but also for its legends.

The excursion includes a visit to a protected area, where participants can observe carnivorous plants, miniature conifers, and various species that bloom only in the summer months.

As a final stop, the journey will continue to Balvanyos, where a walking route to the "stinking caves" and the "bird cemetery" will be explored. The origins of these names will be explained during the tour.

Upon completion of 8-10 hours of exploration, participants will return to Brasov.
