Transfagarasan + Sambata de Sus Monastery Tour

At 8:30 am, we'll meet outside the Modarom building in Brasov to begin a tour of the Transfagarasan road.

Driving across quaint villages, we'll discover the origin of this road, built in the '70s by the armed forces to allow access between Transylvania and Wallachia. This journey presents an insight into the country's history.

Next, we'll ascend the Fagaras Mountains, part of the Carpathian Mountain Range, and make several stops at viewpoints to appreciate the natural scenery. We'll stop at the highest point of the road to admire Balea Lake.

After an hour of free time to explore and purchase items at food stalls, we'll continue to the Sambata de Sus Monastery, showcasing 17th-century Romanian architecture.

Upon arrival, we'll have a half-hour guided tour of the three churches in the religious complex before returning to Brasov.

We will arrive back at the starting point at 3 pm.
