On this tour to Trnava, we'll visit Slovakia's Little Rome, exploring a city characterized by its temples and history linked to the Church.
Description
At the indicated time, you'll catch a train from Bratislava train station for a short 30-minute ride to Trnava. Upon arrival, the guide will greet you at the train station. Trnava is known as Slovakia's Little Rome.
On this day trip to Trnava, we will explore the town's history, including churches, picturesque streets, and small cafes. You will learn about the history of one of the first cities in the Hungarian Kingdom and admire many temples that were once the head of the bishop and archbishop of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
During the 2-hour guided visit, you will see a mixture of architectural styles, including the Saint Nicholas Gothic Cathedral and the Saint John the Baptist Baroque Church. We will explain the characteristics that earned Trnava its nickname of Little Rome.
After the walking tour, there will be 2 hours of free time for you to explore Trnava on your own and enjoy local cafes.
At the agreed time, you'll take the train back to Bratislava, arriving 4.5 hours later.
