Description
Join us on this two-and-a-half-hour tour to explore the defining chapters influencing Bratislava's identity. Listen to narratives related to the Second World War, the National Uprising, the Iron Curtain border, the injustices of communism, and the rich history of Bratislava.
Meet us at the Franciscan Square, the heart of the Slovak capital. We will walk to the Square of the Slovak National Uprising (SNP), located on the edge of the Old Town, which was pivotal in the struggle for independence.
As we proceed to the front of the last synagogue in Bratislava, we will discuss the Holocaust trials and the persecutions during that period.
Next, we will visit the "inverted pyramid", the colloquial name for the radio building, featuring unique architecture from the era of Czechoslovak socialism.
We will walk through Liberty Square to pause at the Grassalkovich Palace, the President's official residence, and admire the UFO Tower, a structure shaped like a UFO that supports the world's seventh-longest suspension bridge.
