Description
Join us on this two-and-a-half-hour free walking tour to explore the defining chapters influencing Bratislava's identity. You'll hear narratives related to the Second World War, the National Uprising, the Iron Curtain border, and the injustices of communism.
Meet at Franciscan Square, known as the heart of the Slovak capital. We'll walk to the Square of the Slovak National Uprising (SNP), which served as a focal point for the struggle for independence.
Next, we'll visit the last synagogue in Bratislava, discussing the Holocaust trials and persecutions that took place. Then, we will proceed to the "inverted pyramid," the colloquial term for the radio building, known for its unique architecture from the Czechoslovak socialism era.
We'll continue through Liberty Square to pause at the Grassalkovich Palace, the President's official residence. The tour also includes a stop to admire the UFO Tower, a structure shaped like a UFO that supports the world's seventh-longest suspension bridge.
