Description
Join us on this two-and-a-half-hour free tour to explore the defining chapters influencing Bratislava's identity. Hear narratives related to the Second World War, the National Uprising, the Iron Curtain border, the injustices of communism, and the rich history of Bratislava.
Meet us at the Franciscan Square, also known as the heart of the Slovak capital. We'll walk to the Square of the Slovak National Uprising, or SNP, situated on the edge of the Old Town, a pivotal area in history.
As we proceed to the front of the last synagogue in Bratislava, we'll discuss the Holocaust trials and the persecutions that occurred during that period.
Then, we will visit the "inverted pyramid," the colloquial name for the radio building, showcasing unique architecture from the era of Czechoslovak socialism.
We'll walk through Liberty Square to pause at the Grassalkovich Palace, the President's official residence. Our tour will also include views of the UFO Tower, a notable structure shaped like a UFO supporting the world's seventh-longest suspension bridge.
