Description
Join us on this two-and-a-half-hour free tour to explore the defining chapters influencing Bratislava's identity. Hear narratives related to the Second World War, the National Uprising, the Iron Curtain, the injustices of communism, and Bratislava's history.
Meet us at Franciscan Square, known as the heart of the Slovak capital. We will walk to the Square of the Slovak National Uprising (SNP), a significant area in the Old Town, pivotal for the struggle for independence.
Next, we will visit the front of the last synagogue in Bratislava, discussing the Holocaust trials and persecutions from that period.
We will then proceed to the "inverted pyramid," the colloquial name for the radio building, exemplifying the architecture of Czechoslovak socialism.
After walking through Liberty Square, we will pause at the Grassalkovich Palace, the President's official residence, and admire the UFO Tower, shaped like a UFO and supporting the world's seventh-longest suspension bridge.
