Yorkín Indigenous Community: 2 Day Tour

Day 1: Bribri - Yorkín Indigenous Community

On the first day, we'll meet at 9 am in the Bribri Talamanca Indigenous Territory. Our guide will lead us to board a canoe for approximately an hour and a half to the shore near the indigenous community of Yorkín. After a 15-minute walk, we will arrive at the village.

Community members will welcome us and provide snacks before taking us to the ranch for our overnight stay. A guided tour of the village will follow, focusing on local life and environmental projects. We will learn about cocoa preparation, making a jícara and tasting its chocolate.

Day 2: Yorkín Indigenous Community - Bribi

After a night in nature, we will start with a traditional breakfast before a tour to discover local medicinal plants. Expect to learn about their properties and health benefits.

Next is an archery class, teaching us to use this ancient weapon. We will then walk to the Panamanian area of the Yorkín River to visit a waterfall for a refreshing swim before lunch.

We will return to the meeting point in Bribri, concluding this 2-day tour around 3 pm.
