Enjoy the beautiful nature of the Alcarria with this hiking route through the natural area of Quejigares de Barriopedro & Brihuega. You'll also visit a very special place called Cívica.

Description

We'll meet at Plaza Iglesia in Yela at the designated time. From there, we'll start this hiking route through the Quejigares de Barriopedro & Brihuega.

Located in the valley of the central stretch of the Tajuña River, this protected wooded area boasts a variety of species, such as holm oaks, gall oaks, willows, and poplars. As you take in the natural landscapes of the province of Guadalajara, we'll provide interesting facts about the surroundings.

During the hiking route, you'll see small mammals that inhabit the area, including genets, wildcats, and badgers. The route, approximately 13 kilometers long, will take us to Civica, a village carved into the rock.

This abandoned site features caves, terraces, arches, and passages that form an architectural point of interest in the Alcarria. Here, you'll learn about the history of this construction by Don Aurelio, along with the story of Civica.

At the end of the tour, we'll return to the starting point in Yela, with a total duration of about 4 hours.
