Enjoy the beautiful nature of the Alcarria with this hiking route through the natural area of Quejigares de Barriopedro & Brihuega. You'll also visit a very special place called Cívica.

Description

We'll meet at Plaza Iglesia in Yela at the designated time. From there, we'll start this hiking route through the Quejigares de Barriopedro & Brihuega.

Located in the valley of the central stretch of the Tajuña River, this protected wooded area boasts a variety of species, such as holm oaks, gall oaks, willows, and poplars. While enjoying the
natural landscapes of Guadalajara, we'll share interesting facts about everything we see.

During the hike, you'll encounter small mammals such as genets, wildcats, and badgers. The route is approximately 13 kilometers long and will take us to Civica, a village carved into the rock.

This abandoned place features caves, terraces, arches, and passages that create an architectural treat in the Alcarria. Here, you'll learn about the history of this construction by Don Aurelio and the story of Civica!

At the end of the tour, we'll return to the starting point in Yela, with a total duration of about 4 hours.
