Experience the allure of Dinant, a stunning location nestled in Wallonia, alongside Luxembourg, the charming capital of one of Europe's tiniest nations, on this remarkable day trip.
Details of the Day Trip
At the scheduled time, we’ll convene in the heart of Brussels and embark on our journey southward, traversing the picturesque landscapes of the Wallonia region.
Our journey begins in Dinant, beautifully situated on the banks of the Meuse River. Here, we will enjoy a panoramic tour to see significant sights, including the Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame and the House of Adolphe Sax, the renowned creator of the saxophone. This town is also famous for Maison Leffe, known for producing one of Belgium's iconic beers.
Following the guided exploration, you’ll have leisure time to wander around and perhaps enjoy a refreshing drink. It’s an ideal moment to savor a local beer!
Afterward, we will continue southward, departing Belgium for about another hour and a half, heading to Luxembourg, the capital of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Interestingly, this nation ranks among the smallest worldwide. Upon our arrival, we will embark on a walking tour of the city’s historic center.
The adventure begins in Luxenmbourg’s old town at the vibrant Place d'Armes. Our walk will lead us to the Notre-Dame Cathedral, where you’ll discover its resemblance to the famous cathedral in Paris.
The exploration continues to highlight other essential landmarks, including the stunning Neumünster Abbey. This 17th-century architectural gem elegantly overlooks the Alzette River in the renowned Grund district, which is recognized as a World Heritage Site.
After completing the guided tour of Luxembourg, there will be free time available. Utilize this opportunity to have a meal or ramble through the historic district.
In the afternoon, we will regroup in the city center of Luxembourg and commence our return journey to Brussels. We expect to reach our starting point in the Belgian capital approximately 11.5 to 12 hours after morning departure.
