Flanders Fields Tour
If you're in Brussels and interested in history, this tour to Flanders Fields is ideal. At the scheduled time, we'll meet on Boulevard de Berlaimont and start our tour.
Between 1914 and 1918, Flanders Fields were a key location on the Western Front. First, we'll visit the German Military Cemetery in Langemark, where over 44,000 soldiers are buried. We'll also see the Comrades Grave, a notable feature of this cemetery.
Next, we will travel to Ypres, where we will take a break for lunch at a restaurant. Afterward, we will visit the Flanders Fields Museum, where we will see trenches and underground refuges and learn about the conditions faced by soldiers.
Following that, we will stop at the Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917 in Zonnebeke to learn about the Third Battle of Ypres, also known as the Battle of Passchendaele.
We will then explore the Tyne Cot Memorial, which honors soldiers who died in the conflict and is the largest cemetery in the Commonwealth of Nations.
To conclude our tour of Flanders Fields, we will stop at the Monument to the Disappeared at the Menin Gate, a memorial to over 54,000 soldiers with no known grave.
Finally, we'll return to Brussels, concluding a total of 13 hours for the tour.
