Delve deep into the beautiful mountain landscapes of Transylvania and Wallachia on this full-day trip from Bucharest. Explore the mystical Bran, known as Dracula's Castle and the Peles palace-castle.
Day Trip Details
After being picked up from your hotel or chosen meeting point in Bucharest, we'll head north through the mythical forests of Transylvania.
Our first stop is in Sinaia, where you'll have free time to visit the imposing Peles Castle. Its halls were used by the Romanian royal family as their summer residence. You'll tour the halls, beautifully decorated at the end of the 19th century, when King Carol I began its construction.
Then we'll proceed to the historic city of Bra?ov. Upon arrival, you'll have 1.5 hours of free time to explore the city center or have lunch at local restaurants.
After lunch, we'll visit Bran's Castle to learn about Vlad "The Impaler", who inspired Bram Stoker's "Dracula". You'll explore the corridors and understand how this character became an icon of popular culture.
After visiting Bran's Castle, we'll return to Bucharest while admiring scenic views.
Pickup Time & Schedule
The tour includes pickup from main hotels and hostels in Bucharest at an indicated time, which may vary. If your hotel is not in the pickup area, select the closest location for pickup.
Itinerary Changes
Peles Castle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. If your tour is on these days, we'll see Peles Castle from the outside and visit an exhibition on medieval torture instruments in Bran instead.
The itinerary is subject to change depending on traffic and seasonal events. Expect long lines during peak season.
