Our private tours

Explore Bucharest with an exclusive English-speaking guide dedicated solely to you and your group by booking one of our private tours. These eight-hour walking tours can be customized to your needs and preferences. Review our suggested itineraries below:

Tour of Bucharest

After being picked up from your hotel, you'll begin your guided walking tour of Bucharest, discovering the incredible cultural heritage of the Romanian capital. Visit the Dimitrie Gusti National Village Museum, an ethnographic museum featuring over 270 authentic Romanian peasant houses and farms that showcase the country’s rural life. You will also see the Romanian Orthodox Patriarchal Cathedral and the Romanian Athenaeum, an ornate Neo-Classical concert hall.

Next, explore one of the city's most significant structures, the Romanian Parliament building. Known as the world's heaviest building, admire its imposing architecture while learning about Bucharest's history. A stroll through the Herastrau Park follows, leading to the Arcul de Triumf, Bucharest's triumphal arch. This tour follows a similar route to our regular guided tour of Bucharest.

Tour of Communist Bucharest

If you’re interested in the Communist era in the Romanian capital, this is the tour for you. Your expert English-speaking guide will explain the history of Ceausescu's dictatorship and uncover the myths and legends of Communism in Romania as you visit the remnants of those tumultuous years across the city. Key sites include Constitution Square and the enormous Romanian Parliament building, also known as the Palace of Parliament, constructed under Ceausescu's orders.

Wander through Revolution Square, the location of Ceausescu's notable speeches in 1968 and 1989, which incited a revolt against him. Discover Ceausescu's former residence, where you can gain insight into his family's lifestyle. You will also visit the memorial dedicated to the victims of the Romanian Revolution and view the iconic InterContinental Hotel.

Hotel pick up

Your tour guide can pick you up from your central hotel in Bucharest, or you can meet them at another preferred location in the city center. Note that if you start your tour from your hotel, this time will be counted towards the overall tour duration, and your sightseeing time will be shortened.

Important information

If the Romanian Parliament building is closed, you will instead visit the Cotroceni Palace, the official residence of the President of Romania.
