Day Trip to Danube Bend: Esztergom, Visegrád & Szentendre

Your adventure commences near the parliament building in Budapest, followed by a scenic coach ride north to Esztergom. Once serving as the capital of Hungary from the 10th to the 13th century, this picturesque city is now the center of the Roman Catholic Church in the country. You will visit the striking Esztergom Basilica, Hungary's largest cathedral, where, alongside a knowledgeable English-speaking guide, you will be able to enjoy the magnificent architecture and the stunning vistas overlooking the Danube River and south Slovakia from Castle Hill—this part of the visit will take around an hour.

Your next destination is Visegrád, famous for its medieval fortress perched atop a hill and the summer residence of King Matthias Corvinus. Witness the impressive remains of Visegrád Castle and take in the breathtaking scenery of the Danube Bend. After the guided tour, you'll have approximately one hour to explore Visegrád at your leisure.

Following lunch, reboard the bus to travel to Szentendre, known as the village of artists. Join your guide for a one-hour walking tour through the old town, after which you can enjoy some free time to browse the local souvenir shops or visit popular museums.
