Learn how to make Argentine asado in this cooking workshop in Buenos Aires. You'll discover different cuts, cooking times, and the secrets of one of Argentina's most famous dishes.
The Argentine Asado, Much More than Food
The Argentine asado is a tradition involving meat preparation, symbolizing gatherings with family and friends. Participants will learn about this Argentine culinary ritual and prepare their own asado.
At the scheduled time, attendees will meet at the entrance to The Asado Experience, where hosts will share secrets of this iconic dish. The workshop takes place in an old family manor house over 100 years old, considered an excellent location for authentic Argentine asado. The session begins with an exploration of different cuts of prime-quality meat.
During the class, participants will learn techniques for starting the fire, creating embers, and understanding cooking times for each cut of meat. The workshop concludes with instruction on chimichurri, a traditional dressing for the meat.
After the class, participants will enjoy a meal that includes choripán, black pudding, pork matambrito, sweetbreads, and a main course of pork loin with roasted vegetables, complemented by Argentine malbec wine and a dulce de leche-type dessert. The entire experience lasts approximately 3 hours.
