Market Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at the entrance to the Franciscan Museum of Monseñor Fray José María Bottaro, on Calle Adolfo Alsina, 380, in front of the Basilica of Saint Francis.
From here, we'll head over to the San Telmo Market. Since 1897, this building has been a popular meeting point for locals and tourists in Buenos Aires.
We'll start by walking down Calle de la Defensa, one of the oldest streets in the Argentinian capital. Along the way, we'll discuss the city's history and make a stop at the Manuel Belgrano mausoleum. Then, we'll continue towards the famous Mafalda Statue for a photo opportunity.
Finally, we'll arrive at the San Telmo Market. Inside this historic building, you will discover vibrant market stalls selling local products. Alongside food such as meats, fruits, and fresh vegetables, you will also encounter antiques, books, and vintage cameras.
We'll stroll among the market stalls, stopping at a popular eatery that specializes in Choripán, a chorizo sausage sandwich. Here, we'll try one of these snacks and an empanada, accompanied by a glass of wine.
Our next stop will be at a traditional stall selling 'dulce de leche', where you'll taste an authentic Argentinian alfajor, along with a surprise gift to end the tour.
