Market Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at the entrance to the Franciscan Museum of Monseñor Fray José María Bottaro, on Calle Adolfo Alsina, 380, in front of the Basilica of Saint Francis.
From here, we'll head over to the San Telmo Market, a popular meeting point for locals and tourists since 1897.
We'll start by walking down Calle de la Defensa, discussing the city's history and making a stop at the Manuel Belgrano mausoleum. Then, we'll visit the famous Mafalda Statue for a photo opportunity.
Finally, we'll arrive at the San Telmo Market. Inside this historic building, you will find a variety of market stalls selling local products, including food such as meats, fruits, and fresh vegetables, as well as antiques, books, and vintage cameras.
We'll explore the market stalls, stopping at an eatery specializing in Choripán, a popular chorizo sausage sandwich. Here, we'll sample this snack and an empanada, alongside a glass of wine.
Our next stop will be a traditional stall selling 'dulce de leche', where you'll taste an authentic Argentinian alfajor and receive a surprise gift to conclude the tour.
