In this activity we'll gaze at the night sky in the Vetón forest of Cabezabellosa. We'll learn to interpret the constellations from both a mythological and scientific perspective.
Cabezabellosa Astronomy Tour
Shortly after sunset, we'll meet at the indicated point, located a few metres from the natural observatory of the Vetón forest of Cabezabellosa. This oak grove, where the Vetons settled in pre-Roman times, is situated at an altitude of 900 metres (2952 feet) with minimal light pollution, providing an excellent view of the night sky.
We'll identify the most important stars and learn the names and meanings of the constellations. Participants will discover new celestial bodies while listening to ancient myths related to cosmology. This experience will blend cultural storytelling with scientific insight.
From a scientific viewpoint, we'll examine the physical processes involved in the formation of stars and other space objects over millions of years.
After two hours of stargazing, we'll conclude the activity by returning to the starting point.
