Dientes de Navarino Hike
On the Dientes de Navarino Hike, participants will explore the scenery of Tierra del Fuego and ascend the Ukika-Róbalo ridge for views. The hike starts at 9 am with a pickup from your hotel in Puerto Williams, followed by a drive to the hiking circuit’s starting point.
An introductory talk will precede the hike through the southernmost forests of the world, focusing on the unique flora, including trees, bushes, and grasses of the remote Andean-Patagonian forest. Participants will learn about the area's biodiversity and attempt to spot endemic birds.
The route will ascend a hill in Navarino Island's interior, offering views of Puerto Williams and the Beagle Channel. A stop will be made for a photograph next to a large Chilean flag atop the hill before continuing south along the Dientes de Navarino route to the Ukika-Róbalo ridge, reaching an altitude of 2,985 feet (910 metres).
After enjoying the views from the ridge, participants will descend to a quiet area for a picnic lunch featuring local products and beer. The hike concludes with a return to the trailhead and a drive back to Puerto Williams, with drop-off at your hotel at 4 pm.
