Truffle Hunting Tour
The experience begins at the scheduled time at Les Pastras de Cadenet farm. We will start with a visit to an authentic Provençal truffle plantation within the Luberon Regional Natural Park. During the tour, truffle dogs will sniff the ground in search of black mushrooms.
During the search for the sought-after "black gold," we will learn to distinguish the Provençal variety, Tuber melanosporum, from other varieties cultivated in Asia and uncover the history of smugglers associated with this high-value fungus.
As we progress, we will receive tips on the proper cleaning, storage, and cooking techniques for truffles, transforming these mushrooms into a culinary delicacy. This will enhance our understanding and enjoyment of truffles in various recipes.
We will conclude this 3-hour experience with a tasting of truffle hors d'oeuvres paired with organic truffle oil. Participants can also choose to enjoy these treats with Provençal champagne.
