Immerse yourself in the history of 18th century Cadiz on this guided tour, discovering the most iconic monuments from its golden age: the Cathedral and the Tavira Tower.

Cadiz Cathedral & Tavira Tower Guided Tour Itinerary

Meet your guide in Plaza de San Juan de Dios to begin your tour. A brief stroll through the Old Town will lead you to the Cadiz Cathedral, known as the "New Cathedral" due to its construction in response to population growth. The cathedral showcases a fusion of architectural styles, reflecting its 116-year construction period.

Next, visit the Torre Tavira, the tallest tower in Cadiz' Old Town. After admiring its Baroque exterior, you will climb to its terrace for views of the city and bay. This tower, along with 160 others, was historically used by merchants to watch for trading ships.

The tower also features a camera oscura, which projects a live view of the surroundings, creating an optical illusion of distance. This guided tour lasts two hours.

Cathedral Museum

The tour includes admission to the Cathedral Museum, but it won't be visited during the tour. You will be free to explore it at your own pace afterward.

Important

To enjoy the view from the Tavira Tower, you must be able to climb 173 steps.
