Immerse yourself in the history of 18th-century Cádiz on this guided tour, discovering the most iconic monuments from its golden age: the Cathedral and the Tavira Tower.
Tour Details
We'll meet in the Plaza de San Juan de Dios, in the heart of Cádiz, to begin an exciting tour of two of the most important monuments of the city's golden age.
After a brief stroll through the picturesque Old Town and wandering under the Arco de la Rosa, you'll reach the Cádiz Cathedral, known locally as the "New Cathedral." This architectural site, built over 116 years, exhibits styles ranging from Baroque to Neoclassical.
Next, we'll head to the Torre Tavira, the tallest tower in Cádiz's old town. After admiring its architecture, we'll ascend one of its 129 lookout towers for a panoramic view of the city and the bay.
The Tavira Tower also features a Cámara Oscura, allowing you to see a live projection of the surroundings through a periscope, providing an impressive optical illusion.
Cathedral Museum
The tour includes admission to the Cathedral Museum. However, we won't visit it during the tour. You are free to visit it at your own pace after the tour.
Important Info
To enjoy the view from the Tavira Tower, you must be able to climb 173 steps.
