Details of the Day Trip
At the scheduled time, we'll set off from your chosen pickup point, making our way inland to explore two of the region's most picturesque white villages alongside a small group of max 12 travelers.
Our initial destination is Conil de la Frontera. Upon arrival, you'll be introduced to the intriguing history of this village, a historical border between kingdoms. We’ll ascend the renowned Torre de Guzmán for stunning panoramic views, while also delving into the Almohad legacy that defines the Barrio de las Flores, adorned with its bright white homes and vibrant flower-filled plazas.
We will also delve into the rich tradition of almadraba tuna fishing, from the art of ronqueo, the traditional method of preparing the fish, to the renowned ancient Garum sauce dating back to Roman days. To further enhance your understanding, we’ll visit the Tuna Interpretation Centre and the Raíces Conileñas House Museum. After exploring the old prison and numerous notable landmarks, you’ll have leisure time at Conil.
Next, we will continue to Playa del Palmar, a stunning 7 km (4.3 mi) stretch celebrated for its surfing conditions and breathtaking sunsets. Here, we will take a brief pause to enjoy a coffee or soft drink while soaking in the mesmerizing ocean views.
Our final visit will be to Vejer de la Frontera, recognized as one of the most picturesque white villages in Andalusia. Entering through the Puerta de La Segur gate, we’ll unlock various myths and tales, such as the enigma of the Star of David in the Church of the Divine Saviour and the mystery surrounding the cistern in the Castle of the Dukes of Medina Sidonia. You'll learn about the remarkable stories of Lala Al-Zhora, the founder of Chaouen, alongside those of Juan Relinque and the Hazas de Suerte. A captivating tale awaits you!
After an enriching experience lasting approximately 4 hours, we will make our way back to the original pickup locations.
