Located near the famous beaches of the Normandy Landings, the Mémorial de Caen features original objects from the Second World War including vehicles, weapons, uniforms, propaganda posters, photographs, and maps. The D-Day exhibition, focusing on the landing on June 6, 1944, provides information about beaches such as Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, Sword Beach, Gold Beach, and Juno Beach. Noteworthy sites in the museum include General Wilhelm Richter's underground bunker and an exhibition on the Cold War.
