Su Nuraxi of Barumini & Domus de Janas Day Trip

On this day trip to Su Nuraxi of Barumini and the Domus de Janas, we'll discover the ruins of the Nuragic civilisation and Neolithic tombs.

Day Trip Details

We'll meet at the indicated time at Largo Carlo Felice in Cagliari, then proceed to Barumini, located at the foot of the Parco della Giara. Here lies Su Nuraxi, the largest Nuragic complex in Europe.

Upon arrival, we'll explore the remnants of the hut village that housed the Nuragic communities, a World Heritage Site. We will also visit the central tower, or nuraghe, to understand the connection this civilization had with the land.

After visiting Su Nuraxi, we will head to Casa Zapata, a residence built for the Sardinian-Aragonese Barons of Zapata, which now includes a small archaeological museum.

Before returning to Cagliari, we will stop in Pimentel to see the Domus de Janas, ancient rock-hewn tombs from the Neolithic period, known as Fairy Houses, with at least 2500 located throughout Sardinia.

The tour concludes with a return to the starting point in Cagliari, lasting a total of 5 hours.
