What is Su Nuraxi of Barumini?
Su Nuraxi of Barumini is a significant archaeological site in Sardinia, known as the best-preserved example of a nuraghe. Dating back to the Bronze Age (16th to 13th centuries BC), the site features a central structure with a main tower and four smaller towers connected by a bastion. A village developed around the complex, including dwellings and daily life facilities. Discovered in the 1950s by archaeologist Giovanni Lilliu, Su Nuraxi was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997 due to its historical and cultural significance.
