Cairo Food Tour

We'll meet at the central El-Tahrir Plaza, in front of La Poire Café, to kick off our gastronomic adventure through Egypt's capital. Following a brief introduction to traditional Egyptian cuisine, we'll journey through downtown Cairo to explore local flavors.

Our first stop will be a refreshing juice beverage, then we'll visit the iconic Champollion Palace, built in the 14th century. Next, we will savor a quintessential Egyptian dish, Koshari, a combination of rice, lentils, macaroni, garbanzos, and tomato sauce. After that, we'll sample an array of sandwiches from a street cart, offering three delicious options.

We will then proceed to a fresh street food venue, highlighting a familiar recipe enhanced by local preparation methods. We will also taste traditional falafel, locally known as ta'meya, and learn the art of its preparation. To conclude our tour, we will enjoy a classic Egyptian dessert, feteer meshaltet, made of puff pastry.

After two hours of culinary exploration, our tour will end on 26th of July Street, in front of the Gad restaurant. You are welcome to continue enjoying Egyptian cuisine at your own pace.
