Cairo Food Tour

We'll meet at the central El-Tahrir Plaza, in front of La Poire Café, to begin our gastronomic adventure through Egypt's capital.

After an introduction to traditional Egyptian cuisine, we'll explore downtown Cairo in search of local flavors. Our first stop will be a refreshing juice beverage as we head to the iconic Champollion Palace, constructed in the 14th century.

Next, we'll visit a typical street cart to savor Koshari, a combination of rice, lentils, macaroni, garbanzos, and tomato sauce. Following this, we will enjoy an array of sandwiches from another street cart.

Then, we'll go to a fresh street food venue to experience a familiar recipe transformed by local preparation. This unique culinary experience will be memorable.

We'll also taste traditional falafel, known in Egypt as ta'meya, and learn about its preparation. The tour will conclude with a classic Egyptian dessert called feteer meshaltet, made of puff pastry.

After two hours of culinary exploration, our tour will end on 26th of July Street, in front of the Gad restaurant. You are welcome to continue enjoying Egyptian cuisine at your own pace.
