Standing at the crossroads of Europe, Africa and Asia, the famous Suez Canal is one of Egypt's greatest engineering marvels. Discover it with this excursion from Cairo.
Itinerary
Having picked you up from your hotel, we leave Cairo heading North. The first stop is in Ismailía, a city established in the late 19th century as a center for the Suez Canal's construction.
After a brief tour of Ismailia, we proceed to the banks of the Suez Canal. While walking along the water, we will learn about the history of this major project, which allows ships to cross from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea without circumventing Africa.
After discovering anecdotes and facts about the Suez Canal's history, we will have a typical Egyptian lunch at a restaurant overlooking the canal.
With our energy restored, we will begin our return journey to Cairo.
