Standing at the crossroads of Europe, Africa and Asia, the Suez Canal is an engineering marvel in Egypt. This excursion offers an exploration of the canal from Cairo.
Itinerary
The tour begins with a pickup from your hotel in Cairo, followed by a journey to Ismailía, a city established in the 19th century as a hub for the construction of the Suez Canal.
After a brief tour of Ismailia, we will proceed to the banks of the Suez Canal. As we walk along the canal, we will discuss the history of this significant project, which enables ships to travel between the Mediterranean and Red Sea without navigating around Africa.
Following this historical overview, a typical Egyptian lunch will be provided at a restaurant overlooking the canal.
After lunch, we will return to Cairo.
