Excursion to the Fayoum Oasis

Head south from Cairo to the Fayoum Oasis, a significant natural space in Egypt where history and nature converge.

Itinerary

After picking you up at your hotel, we will travel south to explore the fertile landscape of the Fayoum Oasis. This oasis is a prominent area near the canals of the Nile River. Historical significance is highlighted by the Meidum Pyramid, one of the oldest pharaonic pyramids dating from around 2,600 BC.

We will proceed through the city of Fayoum and reach Lake Qarun, an essential area of the Oasis with salty waters below sea level and covering several hundred square kilometers. Along the banks of Lake Qarun, we will visit the Kas Karun archaeological site, which features temples and fortresses from various historical eras.

Lunch will be enjoyed on the banks of Lake Qarun, where we can observe the local fauna, notably a variety of birds. In the evening, we will return to hotels in Cairo.
