Excursion to the Fayoum Oasis

Head south from Cairo to the Fayoum Oasis, a notable natural space in Egypt where history and nature converge.

Itinerary

After hotel pickup, we will travel south to explore the fertile landscape of the Fayoum Oasis. This area, known for its historical significance, features the Meidum Pyramid, one of the oldest pharaonic pyramids dating back to around 2,600 BC.

We will pass through the city of Fayoum before reaching Lake Qarun, a key area of the oasis known for its salty waters located below sea level, spanning several hundred square kilometers. Here, we will visit the Kas Karun archaeological site, which contains remnants of ancient temples and fortresses from various historical periods.

We will enjoy lunch along the banks of Lake Qarun, where we can observe the local fauna, particularly its diverse bird population. In the evening, we will begin our return journey to the hotels in Cairo.
