Pyramids of Giza, Memphis and Saqqara

Fall in love with Egypt on this excursion to the Giza pyramids, the Saqqara necropolis, and Memphis, once the capital of the country. Our Egyptology expert will take you back almost 5,000 years to the land of the pharaohs.

Pyramids of Giza, Memphis and Saqqara Itinerary

We'll pick you up from your hotel first thing in the morning and head towards Giza, located 20 kilometers from Cairo.

Once there, we will have three hours to enjoy sights including the Sphinx and the three main pyramids built for pharaohs Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure.

At lunchtime, we will enjoy a typical menu that includes grilled chicken kebabs with vegetables, hummus, tahini, and Arabic bread, followed by sweet pastries and a fruit salad.

Next, we will proceed to the Saqqara necropolis, one of the most important connections to the history of ancient Egypt, where we can see the pyramid of Djoser, the first of Egypt's significant pyramids.

In Saqqara, we will also visit the recently opened tomb of vizier Mehu, which has been well-preserved since its discovery in the 1940s.

Our final stop will be Memphis, the old capital of Egypt, where we can see the 83-ton, 11-meter-tall sculpture of Ramses II and the Alabaster Sphinx. The tour concludes back at your hotel after 8 hours.

Inside the Pyramids

If you are not claustrophobic, you may enter the pyramids. Options include visiting the Khafra and Menkaure pyramids for 300 EGP or the Great Pyramid for 900 EGP. Due to time constraints, it is not possible to visit all three pyramids. Tickets can be purchased on the day of the tour in cash at the ticket offices outside the complex, and the guide will assist you with the process.
