Do you want to see whales in their natural habitat? On this boat ride around Boipeba Island, we'll enjoy an unforgettable whale-watching experience with an expert oceanographer.

Description

We'll meet at the scheduled time at the Pousada Pérola do Atlântico, where an expert oceanographer will provide an informative talk about humpback whales that inhabit the waters off the coast of Bahía.

After the talk, we'll proceed to Boca da Barra or Quteiro Beach, depending on weather conditions. We will then embark on a boat ride along the north-west coast of the island. This ride will last approximately 2 hours, providing a chance to witness humpback whales.

As we navigate this section of the Atlantic Ocean, we'll get close to these native whales, which can measure up to 15 metres (49 feet) and weigh 40 tonnes. The onboard oceanographer will share interesting facts about these whales.

Afterward, we will leave the whale area, and those interested can swim in the Atlantic. The tour concludes back at the meeting point on land, lasting a total of 5 hours.

Whale-Watching

The coast of Boipeba Island is a prime location for humpback whale-watching. However, sightings may vary due to unpredictable factors such as weather and the breeding seasons of different species.
